Giving Hope is a New Orleans, Louisiana nonprofit founded by Troy and Tracy Duhon and dedicated to changing lives through love. Their mission is simple: To give glory to God and to promote human dignity. Through the tireless efforts of their staff, volunteers, and corporate partners, they feed, clothe, house, and provide fellowship to those in need, in the community and around the world.

The Food Pantry of New Orleans was established in 2013 after Toyota of New Orleans transformed a building on their property into a soup kitchen. It has now grown to provide both groceries and hot meals to senior citizens and families in the community. Ms. Betty, the Chief Operations Officer of the pantry says “…in a city known for food, it is a shame that so many people are going hungry every day.”

The Food Pantry of New Orleans serves almost 200,000 hot meals to low-income seniors and over 1.7 million pounds of groceries to low-income families each year.
Corporate Hope Days provide corporations with the opportunity to volunteer as a group at The Food Pantry of New Orleans. Groups prepare and serve food as well as interact with the families and senior citizens in our community in need of help. The hope is that this experience will inspire companies and their employees to give back.

Inspired by extreme lack and horrendous situations for abandoned children, Giving Hope’s goal is to finance and build an orphanage on every livable continent. Hope House coordinates mission trips to fund and build orphanages around the world. Their volunteers travel to often desolate places to help change the lives of young people who have so much to offer, yet so few resources. Their desire is to provide precious children with the opportunity to know what it is to grow in a loving and nurturing environment which is essential to their growth. This will enable them to become productive, healthy adults and not just another statistic on the streets.

Through Hope House, volunteers are blessed with the ability to spend time changing children’s lives through love and hope. The experience and time granted through these mission trips has undeniably been life-changing for all who have attended.

As of 2018, Hope House Orphanages have been built in India, Honduras, Gambia, and their fourth one in Russia was dedicated in June of 2018. They are excited about the new projects for 2019 in Brazil and the Dominican Republic. If you are interest in joining Giving Hope on one of our 2019 dedication trips, please email

Giving Hope partnered with the New Orleans Mission in purchasing the Giving Hope Retreat Center. The Giving Hope Retreat Center opened in 2015 and is located on 60 acres of land in Lacombe, LA away from the bustle of the city. With a peaceful setting and amazing facilities, formerly homeless men are provided a safe haven for all those looking to start anew. The Giving Hope Retreat Center provides both refuge away from the conditions of homelessness as well as training to help these citizens rebuild their lives through training for various trade programs, GED classes and lifestyle courses. They are provided support throughout the recovery period to fill their lives with hope, purpose and direction for a new life.

Our active partnership with this program assists nonviolent offenders in developing skills needed to restart their lives as productive citizens. We connect businesses like Premier Automotive to these individuals who are now trained as skilled workers and are ready to find employment.

The percentage of homeless women in New Orleans has increased by 66 percent since 2012. The New Orleans Mission is addressing this statistic to positively impact homelessness in New Orleans. “These women are the most vulnerable of our homeless population,” said David Bottner, executive director for the New Orleans Mission. “Of the homeless women in New Orleans, 92 percent have been abused sexually or physically. The problem is deeper than meets the eye, and it is our duty to help them.” Currently, the New Orleans Mission offers 32 beds for women in the city of New Orleans. Lynhaven Retreat Center opened in 2018 as a haven of recovery and reengagement for these precious women.

Giving Hope is raising money to make this amazing facility available for women that have faced homelessness and human trafficking. The center will accommodate 100 women. Their desire is to give hope to the broken and help provide the means for them to meet God in a real and powerful way.

Prayer is not a last resort, but the first response in our world of uncertainty. #people2pray was birthed in 2015. God put it on the heart of the founder, Tracy Duhon, to get people praying. Whether you have never prayed, prayed once, or prayed a thousand times, it is the power of prayer that changes things! People2pray is a simple yet powerful prayer each week that you can join in with and be encouraged concerning your life and family. The Duhons believe that lives, families, marriages, and businesses can be developed, but can only stand the test of time and be healthy through the power of pray and Jesus as the foundation of it all.

If you have something that you would like prayer for and would like to be a part of a miracle in your everyday life, you are invited to be a part of this prayer movement for your life, family and business as we touch a hurting world with the love of God and the power of prayer. As the Bible tells us, God hears us when we pray; God desires to meet your needs.

The New Orleans Mission program is based on Christian principles. They work with these men to find jobs, life skills and enroll them in a one year discipleship training.

Every year 700,000 prisoners are released back into our communities where 66% will re-offend and 50% will return to prison within three years.
Ex-offenders are counseled and given comprehensive transitional assistance to work on life skills, develop resumes, become employable and grow spiritually so they can re-join society at a reduced rate of relapse.

Out of a place of passion for injustice, Giving Hope launched Hope Against Trafficking Everywhere (HATE) in 2016 to educate and bring awareness about the dangers of human trafficking. It may or may not be our child, grandchild, niece or nephew, but it is someone’s, and if it were ours then we would want the world to stop and help us find and rescue them.
The average age of a victim of human trafficking is 11-14. Homelessness and poverty makes an individual vulnerable to forced/coerced situations. However, we have been made aware that social media allows an individual to participate in fraudulent “opportunities” that turn violent and life threatening. We cannot stand by and allow our sons, daughters, neighbors and friends to be victims any longer.

Hope for a Home was developed in 2008 during Troy and Tracy’s adoption journey. Tracy began to host a luncheon in her home to help assist families struggling with the financial burden of overseas adoption. As Tracy says, “Everyone needs a forever family.”

Many families feel called upon to adopt but are unable to do so due to financial constraints. Hope for a Home is dedicated to financially and emotionally assisting families throughout the international adoption process. They give the families love and hope, the most powerful gifts. Together we can all change the world, one child at a time.
